Drawing, its the first form of artistic making people do, it is also central to everything a student does here at Gray’s.
Drawing happens in many and varied ways in an art school, in that respect Gray’s is no different, what sets us apart is how we teach drawing. Drawing moves off of a students studio desk and into purpose built drawing studios.
These large studios works as classrooms for formal taught drawing classes that range from traditional life classes through to experimental visualization exercises. This activity is not confined to the traditional mediums like painting and print making but covers all areas of the school such as the fashion students.
Drawing then becomes central to these young artists and designers practice, giving a space and method to explore visual ideas before they are realized as finished forms
