Makers Profile – Simon Ward

Simon Ward is a internationally exhibited ceramics and glass Artist and designer based in Aberdeen.

With 20 years of teaching experience and a craft based practice he is also a lecturer within the 3D Design course here at Gray’s, in this short video he discusses the broad influences that guide his practice as well as his current research project work.

Make Shift Do

Simon along with three other craft based researchers from Gray’s will be part of the Make Shift Do Dundee event to being held at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design.

“Make Shift Do Dundee is a public event held on Friday, November 21st which explores how advances in materials, processes and technologies are driving innovation in craft practice.”

“Hosted by Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD), it includes practical workshops, a salon discussion event, and an exciting new exhibition of work from designers, makers and up-and-coming undergraduate students.”
