Staff Maker Profile – Josie Steed
Josie Steed is a Textiles Designer who is also the Course Director for Fashion and Textiles here at Gray’s School of Art.
Her current research is engaged in finding hand knitting’s place in a era of digital design, looking how complex ideas can be rendered through knit and how this can be further explored through emergent rapid prototyping technologies such as 3D Printing and CNC Fabrication.
Make Shift Do
Josie along with three other craft based researchers from Gray’s will be part of the Make Shift Do Dundee event to being held at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design.
“Make Shift Do Dundee is a public event held on Friday, November 21st which explores how advances in materials, processes and technologies are driving innovation in craft practice.”
“Hosted by Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD), it includes practical workshops, a salon discussion event, and an exciting new exhibition of work from designers, makers and up-and-coming undergraduate students.”
