Fashion Show 2015
The Graduating class from Fashion and Textiles recently held their final fashion show here on campus.
With many of the students also showing at New Designers, the Fashion Show was the best opportunity to see all the collections of our graduating class. It is also a coming of age for the designers, a right of passage that sets them off on their journey into industry.
Josie Steed, head of fashion and textiles at Gray’s, said:
“The fashion show is always the culmination of our students’ time at art school and it is wonderful to see the designs brought to life in such an exciting and professional way.
“The range of work that the students have produced is very impressive and the setting for the catwalk worked perfectly last year, so we are all very much looking forward to the shows.”
Among the students exhibiting their work is Anna Cuinu, who has focused on textiles in her final collection.
The 21-year-old said: “It’s really exciting. It’s a great way to round off fourth year. Looking back to the shows we’ve seen in the past few years, you never think you’re going to be able to create outfits and garments like those, but when you’re under pressure it all comes together.
“It’s what we live for on the course. I love getting up at stupid o’clock in the morning to come in and work on my designs, then going to bed so tired but not being able to sleep because I’m thinking about what I’m going to do the next day.”
