In a fast-paced world, time is a precious commodity and yet we insist on rushing and filling it to the point where it seems we do not have enough of it. Karen Gabbitas is a visual artist who is exploring what happens when we take the time to slow down. Working with performance, photography, drawing, moving image and installation, she is inspired by the natural landscape and the concept of Mindfulness. Recently, she has been leading slow and silent walks where participants can experience a deeper sensory awareness and become more conscious of an expanded perception of time.
