Mark Vernon will be talking about his practice as a sound artist and the creative potential of radio as a platform for artists to experiment with. A keen advocate of radio as an art form, he was a founding member of Glasgow art radio collective, ‘Radio Tuesday’ and has gone on to set up  a number of RSL art radio projects in the UK including Hair Waves, Nowhere Island Radio and most recently, Radiophrenia. He has produced programmes for stations including Resonance FM, VPRO, Sound Art Radio, Kunstradio, Wavefarm, RADIA and the BBC with productions ranging from documentaries and radio plays to soundscapes and conceptual works.

His wide ranging practice with sound also includes performance, publications, soundtracks, installations and releases on fixed media. Solo albums include: ‘Static Cinema’ (Entr’acte 2012), ‘Things That Were Missed in the Clamour for Calm’…
