Gray’s Makes- Wax Painting Workshop
Technical workshops and demonstrations are at the heart of the Gray’s learning experience.
From darkroom photography to jewellery, 3D computer modelling and printing to printed textiles and pattern cutting. All of our course centre on a key skillset of technical processes, and painting is no different.
Here painting students are taught different methods of making their own paint using waxes and pigments instead of oil or another medium. Formal workshops are a core part of the first few years of a students studies but workshop activities continue right until the very end of a students time at Gray’s.
Workshops range from the traditional wood and metal workshops through to the high tech 3D printing and rapid prototyping. The studio plays a central part in a students practice as well, giving a base to make work and experiment with processes and ideas.
